The Voice and American Idol are back, and so is “The Day After,” featuring myself and Voice Season 9 top four finalist Jeffery Austin — now in even chattier, snarkier podcast form.

This was a momentous week on both Idol and The Voice, as we learned which contestants (three for the former, four for the latter) are heading into next week’s finales. And overall, we’re surprisingly pleased — or just plain surprised — by the results! But that doesn’t mean we don’t throw a little shade here and there.
