More than 50 years into his career, Robbie Robertson is busier than ever. He just released his sixth solo album, Sinematic, and some of its tracks are connected to his score for his longtime cinematic Martin Scorsese’s new film The Irishman. Additionally, the Scorsese-executive-produced documentary Once Were Brothers, about Robertson’s revered and influential group the Band, just premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival. Here, the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame-inducted discusses all that with me and more.
