‘The Voice’ Top 4 Interview: Jordan Smith Reveals Adam Levine Duet, Talks Frontrunner Status

Published On December 13, 2015 » By »

“That’s the first time I’ve ever heard that!” The Voice finalist Jordan Smith laughs sarcastically, when it’s brought up for the umpteenth time that he already seems to have the Season 9 competition in the bag. While Jordan the “unicorn” is well aware of his frontrunner status, he’s still humble. Sitting at the legendary Henson Studios on break from this week’s iTunes session, he just seems excited, and even a little intimidated, to record his upcoming duet with coach Adam Levine… which Yahoo Music’s Reality Rocks can exclusively reveal will be the iconic Beach Boys track “God Only Knows.”

Check out our exclusive pre-finale chat at Henson Studios, in which Jordan also discusses his love of Queen and what was going through his head during his phenomenal “Somebody to Love” performance; his thoughts about a possible CCM/gospel career; his favorite past Voice contestants and favorite personal Season 9 moments; and, in a real treat, his favorite musical memories. Once you hear the stories behind Jordan’s first album purchase, the first concert he attended, the song he wishes he’d written, his preshow rituals, and more, you’ll have an even deeper understanding of this “unicorn’s” influences.
