The Day After Podcast with Jeffery Austin: Week of 4/15

Published On April 19, 2019 » By »

It was a controversial week on The Voice, as the series debuted its much-hyped new “Cross-Battles” and left many viewers, including myself and Season 9 finalist Jeffery Austin, feeling very cross indeed. The new live format was plagued by sound issues, not-ready-for-prime-time contestant’ nerves, and some truly baffling results – especially the early elimination of supposed Team Legend frontrunner Kayslin Victoria. And this all happened in Jeffery’s birthday week! Today on “The Day After,” Jeffery and I try to break down exactly what went wrong.

It was a much better week for American Idol and RuPaul’s Drag Race, although those shows had their own problems – like Ashley Hess sadly going home on Idol, and one of the weakest “Snatch Game” rounds ever leading to two of this Drag Race season’s best queens, Brooke Lynn Hytes and Yvie Oddly, shockingly landing in the bottom.

Please join us in the Lay’s Recording Lounge as Jeffery and I discuss all this and more, and have a listen to our snazzy theme song by our American Idol pals Brandon Rogers and Blake Lewis too! And, if you prefer the written word, check out my Voice, Idol, and Drag Race articles on Yahoo Entertainment here.
