The Day After Podcast with Jeffery Austin: Week of 3/2

Published On March 7, 2020 » By »

American Idol, The Voice, The Masked Singer, and RuPaul’s Drag Race are back… so that means “The Day After” podcast with me and Voice Season 9 finalist Jeffery Austin is back as well, to make all your Neon Dreams come true.

Join us as we dig into the two-part Drag Race Season 12 premiere, which includes a good amount of Nicki Minaj and Robyn stanning. (Side note: While we briefly speak about this week’s allegations of Sherry Pie catfishing and harassing aspiring young actors, since taping this episode of “The Day After,” we have learned that Sherry has in fact been disqualified from Drag Race as a result of these recent revelations. We will address any Sherry Pie developments on next week’s podcast.)

Plus, today we talk about Katy Perry’s surprise pregnancy announcement, the possibility of a “We Are the World” anniversary performance on Idol, some Idol Season 1 nostalgia (Justin Guarini, RJ Helton, Tamyra Gray), the decidedly less nostalgic “Danny Gokey Years,” and how Robbie Williams turned down offers to be Queen’s lead singer and an American Idol judge.

Special thanks to our Season 6 American Idol pals Blake Lewis and Brandon Rogers for our funky theme song. If you prefer the written word, check out my Reality Rocks articles on Yahoo Entertainment here. Next week, along with any Sherry Pie news, Jeffery and I will resume our Masked Singer talk as the Group C mystery celebs compete.
