‘Killer’ Queen: See Alaska 5000 Perform for Yahoo Music

Alaska 5000 has to be one of the funniest and most original contestants to ever appear on RuPaul’s Drag Race. The boundary- and envelope-pushing Season 5 top three finalist (and arguably strongest member of the “Rolaskatox” alliance) wowed weekly with her charisma, uniqueness, nerve, and talent, establishing herself as “the queen that takes the tragic and turns it into magic.”

And she has continued to be a fan favorite, with appearances in an American Apparel ad campaign and a Sirius XM talk show alongside fellow queens Willam and Courtney Act; a provocative and sometimes absolutely hilarious YouTube channel (her Laganja Estranja impersonation is everything); and now, a musical career, with her debut album topping the iTunes Dance chart.

Yahoo Music’s Reality Rocks recently visited Alaska in her colorful, self-promotingly T-shirt-filled lair, where she and her musical sidekick Jeremy Mikush entertained us with stripped-down versions of her new songs. Then she sat down to share the T regarding her fearless artistic vision – including an explanation for why she named her album after a certain body part that we won’t print here. You’ll just have to watch her interview to get to the bottom of the matter.
