The Day After Podcast with Jeffery Austin: Week of 4/8

Published On April 11, 2019 » By »

As we recorded this week’s “The Day After” episode, I was in the middle of packing for Coachella and my cohost, The Voice Season 9 finalist Jeffery Austin, had a sinus infection, so please forgive us if this week’s podcast is a little scattered.

But what else is new? That scattered-ness of course means that we discuss a bunch of random stuff, including Pee-wee Herman’s Big Adventure, Baby One More Time, From Justin to Kelly, makeup shaming, Jeffery’s mean texts, montages, whether or not Jeffery is “good TV,” racism within the Idol fanbase, Scarlet Envy’s premature RuPaul’s Drag Race exit, Rizzi Myers’s premature Voice exit, Grease 2, Alyssa Edwards, John Mellencamp, Ian Mellencamp, Josh Kaufman, Sawyer Fredericks, Arrested Development (the band, not the TV show), overalls, shorteralls (let me tell you a story about overalls: NO), and so much more.

And we do break down this week’s American Idol and The Voice, which will lead into next week’s Idol top 14 live shows and the new, hopefully exciting Cross-Battles coming up on The Voice.

Please join us in the Lay’s Recording Lounge and have a listen to both our conversation and our snazzy theme song by our American Idol pals Brandon Rogers and Blake Lewis. And if you prefer the written word, check out my Voice, Idol, and Drag Race articles on Yahoo Entertainment here.
