The Day After Podcast with Jeffery Austin: Finale Week, 12/17/18

Published On December 20, 2018 » By »

The holidays are upon us, and in a true Christmas miracle, the worst-ever season of The Voice, Season 15, is finally over. But not before Season 9 finalist Jeffery Austin and I discuss it on “The Day After,” of course!

In this, our final episode of this fall-winter 2018 season, we discuss the semi-surprising victory of Chevel Shepherd, the genuinely surprising third- and fourth-place finishes for Kirk Jay and Kennedy Holmes, the unstoppable mediocrity of Chris Kroeze, how budget cuts affected the show’s press room catering, Brynn Cartelli’s weird new single (and new record deal), the return of DeAndre Nico (and some random other “bringback” finale performers), the hotness of Brendon Urie, and who sang “O Holy Night” best: Jeffery in Season 9′s finale week, or Kelly Clarkson and Jennifer Hudson this week.

And, of course, there’s some bonus conversation about the two reality competitions that really matter: The Masked Singer and RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars 4.

Thank you for listening to us bitch ‘n’ babble all season, and thanks also to our good American Idol friends, Blake Lewis and Brandon Rogers, for our snazzy theme song. Jeffery and I will be back in February to dish about The Voice AND American Idol, all over again.
